The primary purpose of the detox is not weight loss, but it is sometimes noted during the cure. It is more or less important and durable depending on the individual, the type and duration of the detox, but especially the lifestyle adopted after the detox!

Detox to Loss Weight

Explanations:

Why does the detox sometimes cause weight loss during the cure?

Simply because during the detox, the body will receive fewer calories while it will have to spend more. The energy deficit thus created, will force the body to tap into its reserves (especially fat) to continue to function normally: it is the way to lighten up, more or less, depending on the duration and level of this calorie deficit.

DETOX DECLINES CALORIE CONTRIBUTIONS

This is due to dietary changes inherent in any detox: we consume less "clogging" food for the body. For example, during the course of treatment one avoids the industrial products, too fat/sweet/ salty, and one eats fewer products of animal origin ... foods very often rich in calories by nature. Instead, we consume foods that are less rich in calories, but that provide more essential micronutrients: fruits and vegetables, whole grains, etc. Some will even eat less overall or skip meals; caloric intake will then be even less important.

DETOX INCREASES ENERGY NEEDS

At the same time, a good detox is accompanied by a more sustained physical activity to accelerate the elimination of waste. The secondary benefit of this body mobilization during the cure is that it increases the basal metabolism, ie the energy resources needed for the activity. Combined with a caloric reduction, this increase in needs forces the body to tap into energy storage areas: fat (then muscles)! So the more physical activity is supported and the food crop respected, the more fat should be lost.

But it is really important to understand that this loss of weight will only be temporary (it occurs during the course of treatment) if the new "good habits" of lifestyle are not maintained after the cure. It is even likely that the person takes back the weight if his lifestyle is unbalanced after the detox.

The detox is a good way to support a motivation to lose weight if it is part of a comprehensive and sustainable approach to recovery of his lifestyle.

But keep in mind that the # 1 goal of detox is to help cleanse and regenerate the body. Detox is meant primarily to restore energy: it is a success even if it is not accompanied by weight loss, each body is unique and reacts differently.
