How to Eat Chia Seeds

Eat Chia Seeds

We see them bloom everywhere on feed blogs and in Pinterest recipes. This is the IT-Food of this season and not only because the chia seed (pronounced "chia") is hyper photogenic, promised!

Made from a plant from the same family, this seed is rich in protein, fiber, calcium, omega-3, and antioxidants. It is super fast food to prepare and easy to accommodate because its taste is imperceptible. Without gluten, it can serve as a base for your breakfast, snacks, and desserts.

You can find 2 different varieties in organic stores: white seeds & black seeds that have not yet matured. They are interchangeable, knowing that whites are generally richer in nutrients.

There are plenty of ways to eat it, knowing that it is best to soak it before eating it. Indeed the mucilage (kind of gelatin that forms around the grain when it soaks) allows better digestion and better assimilation.

The chia pudding

Archi-simple & super good: I soak my chia seeds in vegetable milk (coconut or almond) for at least 1 hour, with a little vanilla extract and honey.

Then I add some fruits cut on it and that's it!

Chia seed pastries

Simply incorporate a tablespoon of seeds into your preparations to make your cakes a little healthier!
